At Argosy University, Sarasota Campus, our faculty of talented, working professionals offer students extensive real-world experience combined with sound theoretical knowledge. This provides the foundation of sound academics and practical skills essential for success. Our campus, located in northeast Sarasota, is specifically designed for postsecondary and graduate-level instruction through a unique combination of in-residence course work, tutorials, and on-line study courses. Several of our programs are off-site tutorials and intensive one-week classroom sessions. Students may also complete up to 49% of the work in some degree programs via online courses that allow interaction with faculty and classmates from any Internet connection. Sarasota is recognized as Florida?s cultural coast and is home to a professional symphony, ballet, and opera as well as dozens of theaters and art galleries. Well-known vacation attractions such as Disney World, Busch Gardens-Tampa, and the city of Miami are within a few hours drive.

COLLEGE OF PSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES
AMERICAN SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL PSYCHOLOGY
The MASTER OF ARTS (MA) IN COMMUNITY COUNSELING program explores psychological, mental health and human development principles, and examines a variety of treatment methods. Students learn client interaction and intervention along with basic counseling skills in a solutions-based academic environment. The program is intended to continue the professional development of those who are currently serving, or wish to serve, in a counseling role.
The MASTER OF ARTS (MA) IN FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGY program provides coursework in forensic psychology for application to law enforcement, legal and organizational consultation, and program analysis. The program is designed to meet growing needs of the legal and criminal justice systems for professional counseling within victim assistance programs, probation and parole offices, court-mandated treatment programs, jails and prisons. With the exception of the practicum component, courses are offered on weekends allowing students to continue full-time employment while enrolled in the program.
The MASTER OF ARTS (MA) IN SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY program is dedicated to producing ethical, responsible, and competent school psychologists who can serve effectively in a number of professional roles. Students develop core competencies in psychological assessment, intervention and consultation, as well as cultural and individual diversity. Graduates of the program may be eligible for Department of Education certification and will be prepared for employment as school psychologists.
The DOCTOR OF EDUCATION (EDD) IN COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY program prepares counselors from a variety of settings with the skills and credentials necessary to develop leadership in supervisory, training, and teaching positions. The program is intended for students with a background in mental health, social work, school counseling, pastoral counseling, and psychiatric nursing who wish to earn the terminal degree in the field. Students develop new interests and levels of competency through an applied, research-practitioner approach to the role of professional counselor.
COUNSELOR EDUCATION
The MASTER OF ARTS (MA) IN MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING program offers practicing health services providers and those planning to enter the field extensive knowledge and the broad range of skills required to provide effective counseling to diverse patient populations. The coursework and practicum are designed to meet the current educational requirements for appropriate master?s-level licensure in the state of Florida. As licensing requirements vary from state to state, students are responsible for verifying the current requirements with the state in which they plan to practice.

The EDUCATION SPECIALIST (EDS) IN SCHOOL COUNSELING program is intended for teaching professionals with a master?s degree who wish to continue their professional development. This program focuses students on a specialty area applicable to the public school setting. Curriculum helps students meet the specialization requirements for certification in Guidance and Counseling (Grades K ? 12) in the state of Florida. As certification varies from state to state, students should verify the requirements with the state in which they plan to practice.
The DOCTOR OF EDUCATION (EDD) IN COUNSELOR EDUCATION & SUPERVISION prepares counselors for a variety of settings by providing the advanced skills and knowledge essential to effective leadership and advocacy. The field is dedicated to both the academic preparation and comprehensive supervision of counselors across multiple settings. This course of study aligns with the Master of Arts (MA) in Professional Counseling program to encourage entry-level counseling students to work toward becoming doctoral-level advanced practitioners, educators, and supervisors.

MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPY
The MASTER OF ARTS (MA) IN MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPY program develops the theoretical and clinical elements required to provide effective counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups. The program introduces students to basic counseling skills that incorporate foundations of applied psychology and systems theory into the development of appropriate clinical relationships. It is intended for students who wish to continue professional development or pursue a career change. The curriculum is designed to meet the present national and Florida state requirements for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Students should contact the state in which they plan to practice to verify licensing requirements. This program is offered through weekend courses to allow concurrent employment.

The DOCTOR OF EDUCATION (EDD) IN ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP program is designed for working professionals who wish to develop the knowledge and skills required to hold leadership positions in viable, complex organizations that are capable of meeting future challenges. We focus on transformational leadership skills in addition to managerial attributes. Students develop skills needed to design, implement, and evaluate educational programs and curricula. Courses include educational law, educational finance, organizational communication, human resource management, instruction supervision, and organizational management.
The MASTER OF ARTS IN EDUCATION (MAED) IN INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP program examines the challenges and problems encountered in today?s educational environment. Coursework encompasses the historical, philosophical, psychological, social, technical, and theoretical aspects of education. The DOCTOR OF EDUCATION (EDD) IN COMMUNITY COLLEGE EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP program offers an accelerated course of study intended to meet the needs of community college administrators who are looking to move into senior administrative positions (such as president, vice president, dean, and director) in community colleges.
The DOCTOR OF EDUCATION (EDD) IN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP program is designed to enhance educational leadership strengths. The MASTER OF SCIENCE (MSM) IN MANAGEMENT program is designed to meet the operations and leadership needs of managers and supervisors in public, private, and not for profit industries.
