Barry University?s School of Social Work is committed to the finest traditions of excellence in teaching, with an emphasis on individualized attention to students and rich support services. In addition, the School is located in one of the most diverse and dynamic community learning environments to be found in this country.
The School offers an integrated program of study focused on clinical skills development for students who want to specialize in working with individuals, families, and groups. The faculty has distinguished itself in both research and community leadership. All classes are taught by professors, there are no GA instructors in the program.
Barry?s field education practicum offers ?hands-on? learning opportunities in almost every area of clinical social work specialization. Over 300 agencies are available to choose from for a varied and diverse field experience.
Barry?s campus is situation in beautiful south Florida and Barry University was ranked first in campus diversity among southern regional universities in U.S. News & World Report?s, ?Best Colleges - 2007.?
For each of the last seven academic years, $1.3 million dollars in non-loan-based financial aid was awarded by the School. These awards consisted of scholarships, grants, tuition discounts, and paid internships.
The School is sensitive to the family and financial responsibilities of its students. For that reason, both full-time and part-time programs are available at the Miami Shores campus. A Saturday program is available at Palm Beach.
Barry also offers an Advanced Standing Program that enables students who have an undergraduate B.S.W. to earn their master?s degree in two semesters, and may begin the program in either the summer, fall or spring semesters.
