The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is the nation?s leading nonprofit school exclusively dedicated to psychology and related fields. The School is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and an active member of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology, which has recognized The Chicago School for its distinguished service and outstanding contribution to cultural diversity and advocacy.

The Westwood campus is located in the center of Westwood Village, a lively neighborhood next to the UCLA campus and a short drive to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and several public beaches. This ?urban yet suburban? neighborhood (with high-end restaurants, eclectic cafes and sandwich shops, retail shopping, and more) provides students access to UCLA?s libraries and other amenities, ample convenient parking, and easy access to the 405, 101, and 10 freeways.

The Westwood campus is also home to one of the well-known Chicago School Counseling Centers which provide students the extraordinary opportunity to gain real-world training while also learning marketing and operations related to running a private practice or mental health clinic.

Since its founding in 1979, the School has become recognized as innovators in the field, always exploring psychology?s potential to meet the evolving health, business, forensic, and human development needs of our society. Its approach to psychology training and education is unique in several important ways:

? Emphasis on applied learning. Students learn by doing, and they leave with powerful and full resumes. In addition to a traditional internship, students enjoy a rich spectrum of clinical training, community service, and applied field research opportunities that prepare them for success in a way few other schools can.

? Focus on diversity. The School actively infuses all of its academic programs with curricula to build students? knowledge of and competence in working with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives. The Chicago School was recently recognized by the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology for distinguished service and outstanding contributions to cultural diversity.

? Practitioner faculty. The faculty members are focused not just on theory and research, but on meeting the real-world challenges of individuals, organizations, and society. They bring their years of professional experience into the classroom, providing a rich?yet powerfully practical?educational experience for their students.

? Intimate learning community that allows for personalized attention and frequent interaction and collaboration with faculty and fellow students.

? Campuses in large, metropolitan cities that offer an unrivaled range of opportunities for clinical training, community service, field research, and professional networking.
