Lesley University is comprised of four distinct colleges including the Art Institute of Boston (AIB), Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, the School of Education, and Lesley College.
Founded in 1912, the Art Institute of Boston is a professional visual arts college, offering an MFA Visual Arts degree in a low-residency format that enables working professionals to hone their craft while acquiring new skills, knowledge, and experiences.
The Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences offers a variety of Master's degree, certificates of advanced graduate study and doctoral programs in counseling psychology, creative arts in learning, expressive therapies, intercultural relations, independent study, interdisciplinary studies, environmental education, and an MFA in Creative Writing.
The School of Education prepares students for teacher licensure and advanced degrees, including several doctoral programs, in Massachusetts and 23 other states. The school's graduate programs in early childhood, elementary, middle school, high school, special education, curriculum and instruction specializations, literacy, math, science in education, and technology in education are nationally recognized. Lesley University is the leading "teacher of teachers" in the United States and offers a PhD program in Educational Studies.

LOCATION AND FACILITIES
Lesley's Cambridge campus occupies five acres just a few minutes away from Harvard Square. Harvard Square is home to a number of educational institutions, historic sites, performing arts theaters, museums, and galleries. The city of Cambridge, founded in 1630, has a diverse population of approximately 100,000 people. Boston, with its population of more than 600,000 people, offers an array of cultural and recreational opportunities, including professional sporting events and annual festivals. The city has the largest concentration of universities and colleges of any metropolitan area in the United States and is one of the country's major financial centers.
Lesley's campus includes 69 buildings. Plans to unite the campus, by relocating the Art Institute of Boston from Kenmore Square to Cambridge are currently underway.
