    *** Low Residency & Online Programs ***

    Please Note: The vast majority of programs at SVA require full-time, in-person study. Prospective students are encouraged to contact the department directly to inquire about class schedules and how other students have managed a classroom/work/life balance. All graduate department contact info can be found here.

    SVA offers two low residency graduate programs: MFA Art Practice and MFA Visual Narrative.The low-residency framework is comprised of 3 summers of studio practice on campus and 4 semesters of rigorous and interactive online coursework.

    Additionally, the MPS Branding department offers an online version of the program, but applicants must specify their interest in this on the application. The courses for both their online and in-person students will be simultaneous and synchronous, providing identical education in faculty, courses, assignments, workshops, real-world clients, and professional mentorship.
