Individuals who have a knack for languages may want to pursue a career as a foreign language teachers, translators, or find employment in global business or homeland security. They can begin their path towards these professions by earning a graduate degree in a language. While degree offerings vary depending on the school, students can often major in Spanish, French, Russian, Japanese and Arabic. Some programs also focus on the study of Latin, romance and Biblical languages. In addition to enhancing their grammar and speaking skills, graduate students may focus on the history of a language, as well as the countries where it is spoken.
